pXRF

pXRF, or portable x-ray fluorescence is a method whereby an object is bombarded with x-rays and the resulting UV fluorescence spectrum is collected. This spectrum is used to identify the elemental composition of the surface of the object. This method is especially useful in the analysis of art objects and historical objects as it is an entirely no-destructive method.

UVU has a Bruker pXRF instrument I am learning to use.
