I have been generating my own POGIL materials since (roughly) 2012. When I started using POGIL in my general chemistry classes I used the classic Moog collection, and therefore my own activities were strongly influenced by that work. In some cases I discarded Moog’s work entirely and generated completely new activities. In some very few cases the activities have been changed very little. In most cases the activities have been extensively re-written reflecting the materials my students have available in their (OpenStax) textbook, the different process skills I am trying to foster in my classes, and my own particular quirkiness.
I will not be posting the materials themselves here, but I will post a list of titles below. I will gladly send you a copy if you contact me.
And if you are interested in POGIL activities, or have authored your own POGIL activities, you really should know about the POGIL Activity Clearinghouse (PAC). It is, as its name implies, a clearinghouse for POGIL activities. Every activity posted there will have been reviewed by several experienced POGIL practitioners. My activities generally will not go there as they are based on Moog’s original activities and therefore prohibited by existing copyright law.
Here are the activities I use for my first semester general chemistry class.
Here will be the activities I use for my second semester general chemistry class.
Maybe someday I will generate my own physical chemistry activities, but until then check out my friends Drs. Tricia Shepherd and Alex Grushow’s collection of quantum activities. And here is Spencer, Moog, and Farrell’s classic collection of thermodynamics activities.
